When using Site Kit, site owners are responsible for managing notice and consent requirements - including GDPR requirements - as described in the Google Terms of Service guide.
There are a number of third-party plugins that allow you to block Google Analytics, Tag Manager, or AdSense from capturing data until a visitor to the site consents. Some of these work natively with Site Kit by providing plugin-specific configurations. Some of the more popular plugins include:
- CookieYes
- Provides an option to switch on Google consent mode from the web app
- Visit the respective guide on how to enable Google consent mode for CookieYes
- Complianz GDPR/CCPA cookie consent
- Provides a consent management option for Site Kit-placed Analytics snippet
- Visit the respective guide for more information
- GDPR Cookie Compliance (CCPA, DSGVO, Cookie Consent)
- Supports both the Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics consent variables natively. Google Site Kit integration options are included as part of a premium add-on
- Cookiebot | GDPR/CCPA compliant cookie consent and control
- Provides a consent management option by using Google consent mode. Visit the respective guide for more information on Cookiebot’s Google consent mode.
