FAQs

Idea Hub is an experimental feature which provides content suggestions for your site from actual questions people asked on Google Search that are similar to your site’s content.

For example, if you receive an Idea Hub suggestion for “I designed a WordPress site but would like to take down the website for a year is it possible to save my design how”, you would want to draft content that discusses how to export and temporarily take down a WordPress site.

At this time, Idea Hub is an experimental feature that is only available in the US. We hope to make it available to other countries soon.

Availability

Idea Hub will roll out to eligible sites in the US only over the course of several releases. To see if you have access to this feature, go to Site Kit > Settings > Connect more modules. If Idea Hub is available, you will see an option to connect it.

Setup

On the Site Kit Dashboard, click Set Up in the top Idea Hub banner:

Or go to Site Kit > Settings > Connect More Services > Set up Idea Hub:

You will be prompted to select your associated Google account and accept additional permissions.

On the final step, click the checkbox to agree to allow Idea Hub to track your usage of the feature in order to provide better idea suggestions and click Continue.

Using Idea Hub

Once setup is complete, a new Idea Hub panel will appear in the Acquisition section of the Site Kit Dashboard:

New

The New tab shows new suggested ideas. New ideas are generated every 2-3 days. To dismiss an idea, hover over it and click the middle X icon. Note that dismissed ideas will not reappear as future suggestions.

Saved

The Saved tab shows ideas that you have saved to work on later. To save an idea for later and remove it from the New tab, hover over it and click the pin icon:

The idea will now show in the Saved tab:

Drafts

To start drafting a post related to an idea, hover over it and click the paper and pencil icon:

The idea will move to the Drafts tab and a new draft will appear in Posts with the Idea Hub idea included in the draft details. You can access the draft by going to Drafts > View draft:

FAQs

Why don’t I see Idea Hub in Site Kit?

At this time, Idea Hub is an experimental feature that is only available in the US. We hope to make it available to other countries soon.

Where do Idea Hub suggested ideas come from?

Idea Hub provides content suggestions for your site from actual questions people asked on Google search that are similar to your site’s content. The specific ideas suggested for your site are based on the topics of your site identified from posts you’ve already published. For example, if you’ve published a few posts about baseball, you may see suggested ideas for baseball-related questions.
