Site Kit doesn’t include any ads conversion configurations at this time. However, you can still set up conversion tracking on your site, by using one of the options below.

Option 1: Use Google Tag Manager

If you’ve allowed Site Kit to insert your Google Analytics code snippet on your site, this results in a standard Google Analytics code snippet placement that cannot be modified to include your ads conversion tag. You can however add this tag using  Google Tag Manager:

  1. Ensure that you have created a Tag Manager account and container on the Google account that you’ve used to set up Site Kit. You can skip step 2 from the Setup and install Tag Manager guide, as Site Kit will publish your container when you connect the Tag Manager module in the plugin.
  2. Follow this guide to set up a conversion tag in Tag Manager
  3. Once you’ve completed the setup, connect Google Tag Manager via Site Kit by going to Site Kit > Settings > Connect More Services > Google Tag Manager in the WordPress administrator panel. You’ll be prompted to log in to your Google account to connect. Be sure to log into the account that you used to set up Google Tag Manager.

Option 2: Insert your own Google Analytics code snippet that includes an ads conversion tag

Site Kit can recognize an Analytics code snippet that has been inserted manually or via third-party plugin and populate the Site Kit dashboards with data from this Google Analytics property. This code snippet can include your ads conversion tag.

  1. Follow this guide to set up a conversion tracking. During step 2, under the “Installing the global site tag” section, follow the “Option 1: Install the tag yourself” instructions.
  2. Once you’ve completed the setup, connect Google Analytics via Site Kit by going to Site Kit > Settings > Connect More Services > Google Analytics in the WordPress administrator panel. You’ll be prompted to log in to your Google account to connect. Be sure to log into the account that you used to set up Site Kit.
  3. Once setup is complete, Site Kit will recognize your Google Analytics code snippet that includes your ads conversion tag.

Note: You can use Tag Assistant to check the implementation of your Google Analytics code snippet and ads conversion configuration.
